Obituary of Trudi E. Egan

Trudi Elizabeth Egan, 68, formerly of Warrensburg, went to be with her Lord and family, Monday, March 14, 2016, at Glens Falls Hospital, after fighting an 18 month battle with cancer.
Born April 20, 1947 at home, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Karl H. Sailer, Sr. and Gertrude (Mauk) Sailer, formerly of Brant Lake, and later, Queensbury.
As a 1964 graduate of the Horicon Central School in Brant Lake, she furthered her education, receiving her Associate of Arts Degree, with honors, from Adirondack Community College, Bachelor of Science Degree, in Elementary Education, from SUNY Plattsburgh, with the honors of Magnum Cum Laude, and her New York State Permanent Teaching Certification was earned with combined graduate course work from SUNY Oswego and SUNY Plattsburgh.
Trudi taught fourth grade at Cherry Street Elementary School in Phoenix, NY for two years; First grade at Lake George Elementary School for ten years; First grade at Evans Mills Elementary School for four years; and First grade at Warrensburg Elementary for eighteen years.
She loved God, people (especially first graders and their families), her home and family, singing, working in her garden, Wheel of Fortune, UCONN women’s basketball, and her beagles.
In addition to her parents, Trudi was predeceased by a brother, Paul Sailer, and nephew, Paul John Sailer.
She is survived by her husband of over 46 years, Eric Egan, of Queensbury; a son, Michael Egan, and his companion, Lindsey Pashow, of Au Sable Forks; two brothers, Karl H. Sailer, Jr., and wife, Anna, of Schroon Lake, and Edwin H. Sailer, and wife, Marleen, of Ringoes, NJ; a sister-in-law, Audrey Sailer of Dover-Foxcroft, ME; two nieces, Karen Romero, husband, Bob, and family, of Carver, MA, Beth Genova, husband, Chuck, and family, of Woolwich, NJ; seven nephews, Stephen Sailer, wife, Eugenia, and family, of Lindenhurst, Philip Sailer, wife, Winnie, and family, of Concord, MA, Ed Sailer, wife, Stacia, and family of Milford, MA, Kenneth Sailer, wife, Liz, and family, of Columbia, SC, Mark Sailer, wife, Maureen, and family, of Lake Grove, Timothy Sailer, wife, Victoria, and family, of Richland, WA, and Jonathan Sailer of Abbot, ME. She also leaves behind her best beagle friend, Molly, and many dear friends.
Friends may call on Trudi’s family from 4 to 7 pm, Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 7 pm, Thursday, at the funeral home, with Rev. Robert McCrory, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hudson Falls, officiating.
Burial will take place privately in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
