I was a childhood friend of Patty's at Johncburg Central. I loved Patty's creative mind. I remembered an assignment we were given in grade school to write a story. Patty brought in a story with drawn pictures of how a penny took on a life of its own after falling out of the owner's purse. It was so genius. I had wished I had her cleverness. Remember how snappy and full of wise cracks, ideas and smiles she always was? When our class did West Side Story, Miss Jugon knew she was perfect to play Anybody. I'll never forget that opening scene - her bopping to the music down the center aisle to the stage. Patty was a character that we all loved, as rough and opinionated she could be, you just didn't want to turn it off.
