Please share a memory of Lisa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Newcomb/Syracuse: Lisa Anne Stubing, 58, formerly of Newcomb, passed away in the early hours of Monday, July 28, 2014 at Saratoga Hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born February 23, 1956 in Glens Falls, she was the eldest daughter of the late Harland H. and Mary (Menshausen) Stubing. Lisa was a graduate of the Newcomb Central School, Class of 1974. She then went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, followed by her Master’s Degree in Education at Syracuse University, where she worked as a Media Specialist in the Bird Library, for over 20 years. She was also a full time art teacher in the Syracuse City School System. She loved to paint and enjoyed the outdoors of the Adirondacks, as well as many additional interests and friends from all over the world; however, she was a true “North Country” girl at heart. She is survived by two brothers, Steven M. Stubing of Glens Falls, and Sand J. Stubing and his wife, Janet, and their sons, Andrew and Cole Stubing, all of Greenfield. She also leaves behind her 103 year old maternal grandmother, Nathalie Menshausen of Warrensburg, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 11 am, Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Newcomb United Methodist Church, Route 28N, Newcomb, with Pastor Carol Ames officiating. Burial will be conducted privately, at the convenience of the family in Warrensburg Cemetery. Please visit www.alexanderfh.net for online guestbook, condolences and directions.
