Bolton Landing:
Emily K. Smith, 90, of Lake Shore Drive, passed away peacefully, Monday, January 2, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 29, 1926 in Rotterdam, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine Adamec.
Emily married Raymond H. Smith on November 30, 1946. The couple resided in Connecticut before relocating to Bolton Landing in 1978.
For over 50 years, she and Ray owned and operated the Lake George Camping Equipment Marina in Bolton Landing.
She was a wonderful person, a loving mother, had a smile that could warm your heart and will be remembered as the best mother a child could ask for.
Emily was an active, faithful member of the Warrensburg Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and enjoyed traveling the countryside attending assemblies.
Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed knitting, cooking, and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Emily was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Raymond Smith who passed away in 2004.
She is survived by seven children, Ray Smith, Jr. and his companion, Patricia Hewitt of Saratoga, Dorothy Douglass of Warrensburg, Gary Smith and his wife, Darlene, of Warrensburg, Gail Britton and her husband, Glenn, of Athol, Nancy Jo Smith and her companion Brian Cassidy, of Lake Luzerne, Jeffrey Smith and his companion, Cathy Converse, of Bolton Landing, Wayne Smith and his companion, Rene Shaw, of Bolton Landing; eight grandchildren, Brooke Smith, Glen Smith and his wife, Joy, Sarae Badillo and her husband, Gabe, Brendan Pulica and his wife, Andrea, Kimberley Pulica and her companion John Peluso, Trevin Schwenk, Brian Britton, and Stephanie Sherman and her companion, Jason; great-grandchildren, Austin Isaacs, Sophia Smith, Brena Pulica, and Jackson Smith ; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Emily’s request, there are no calling hours scheduled.
A memorial talk to celebrate her life will be conducted at 1 pm, Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Warrensburg Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 69 Schroon River Rd., Warrensburg.
Emily’s earthly remains will be laid to rest in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Emily’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
