The wind is blowing gently and the summer leaves wave along, for they notice something missing in this world that they belong. The trees creak just a little and the earth has sunk a bit, as if the woods are mourning for something that is missed. The animals are silent and all their heads are bowed, for they know what's missing and they are in mourning now. Among the humans that have passed through, the woods only remember a few, only those with a spirit that can blend among the trees shall be mourned when their spirit has been set free.

What a shock to hear about Mike. He was one of the first people I met upon first entering the Adirondacks. I am sorry for your loss, Pauline. I remember spending hours up to camp with Marc,Mike, Helen and Bill drinking coffee and listening to stories. I was actually just searching for him on Facebook, recently. God grant you peace.

Pauline, only Monday evening I spoke with Mike after his surgery. I'm so grateful for our talk as I never thought that 24 hrs later he'd be gone from our lives forever. You would think that after 35 years with the military and what I've seen that I'd be prepared for this. Not so. My heart is torn and my spirit shattered, as are his southern hunting buddies Terrell and Leonard. No matter how many times he tested this old man I always loved him like the brother he was. There are so many awesome memories over the years that I will take to my grave. I will be there soon and know I'm only a phone call away. God bless and God speed.
