Obituary of Mary Catherine Johnson

Warrensburg: Mary Catherine (Belanger) Johnson, 78, of State Route 418, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, July 18, 2018. Mary suffered from complications of Myelodysplastic Syndrome. Born February 19, 1940 in Lake George, the daughter of Leonidas and Muriel Belanger. She graduated from Adirondack Community College. She was very proud of her Catholic faith and her French Canadian heritage. Mary loved spending time with her family, traveling, camping, sewing, dirt biking, dancing, bowling, biking, softball and volunteering as a 4-H leader. She was also on the St. Mary’s Academy School Board. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of sixty years, Charles F. Johnson Sr.; their children, Charles F. Johnson Jr. (Linda) of Warrensburg, Catherine M. Johnson of Lake George, Mary Victoria Bressette (Allan) of Fort Ann. Her ten grandchildren, CJ Johnson, Colette Fifield, Rachel Johnson, Dominick Fruda, Monet Fruda, Quatrina Bressette, Josh Bressette, Brenton Southwick, Jacob Johnson, Breanna Bressette and three great grandchildren, Charlie Mae Johnson, Inman Fifield, and Weston Holley. At Mary’s request there will be no calling hours scheduled. A Christian Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, July 27 at St. Cecilia’s RC Church 3802 Main St, Warrensburg with Father Paul Cox officiating. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at the CR Wood Cancer Unit and Dr. Grubbs and her staff for their care.
