Patricia R. Baker, 85, of Lakeshore Drive, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 31, 1930 in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth N. and Laura (Plant) Pohl.
Pat was a graduate of Albany High School, Class of 1948.
Alongside her parents, Pat established and operated Sunnybrook Acres on Lakeshore Drive in Lake George.
Besides spending time with her family, Pat enjoyed following the weather, crafting with her grandchildren, bird watching, gardening, crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader. She also took great pride in organizing garage sales, and manned the tables as “Chief Cashier”.
Pat was passionate about the “M&M”, an annual golf tournament at Cronin’s set up in memory of her son, Michael, supporting local charities.
In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by a son, Michael F. Matte.
She is survived by four sons, Stephen Matte and his wife, Andrea, of Queensbury, Jeffrey Matte and his wife, Rebecca, of Queensbury, and Robert Matte and his wife, Wendy, of Ballston Spa; adopted son, Scott Hasemann and his wife, Rebecca of Hartford. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Rachel, Jamie, Steve, Christopher, Jennifer, Laura, Alexander, Olivia, Ashlie, Mika, and Bailey; 11 great-grandchildren, Haydn, Tristan, Finn, Mary Claire, Drew, Benjamin, Reef, Caleb, Makenna, Bella, and Bailey.
Friends may call on Pat’s family from 5 to 8 pm, Friday, January 29, 2016 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation, at 8 pm, Friday, at the funeral home with her brother-in-law, Owen Matte, officiating.
Burial will take place privately, at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Patricia’s memory to the Wait House, Wait Street, Glens Falls, 12801.
Pat was glue that held her family together.
