Obituary of Charles L. Ross
Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Warrensburg/Malta:
Charles L. “Poppy” Ross, 62, formerly of Warrensburg, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with COPD.
Born February 18, 1954 in Johnsburg, he was the son of the late Garry Ross, Sr. and Alberta (Washburn) Mosher.
Charles enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson trike, and took two amazing trips to Sturgis, SD, with his brother, Randy. He also loved fishing and hunting, anywhere, anytime, as well as carrot cake and maple walnut ice cream. Above all else, his greatest joys were his grandchildren; Charles could often be found “getting his pants beat off” in a challenging game of Dora Dominoes.
In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by four siblings, Edella Mosher-Jenkins, and Brenda, Garry, and Michael Ross, a niece, Stacie Ross, and father-in-law, William Remington.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Judy Johnson; father, Edward (Jen) Mosher; step-mother, Katherine Ross; children, Jennifer (David) Chatt, Kerrie (Craig Macy) Ross, and Alena (Robert) McArthur; grandchildren, Madison, Madeline, Logan, Peyton, and Gunner; siblings, Randy (Kim) Ross, Sandra (Glenn Violette) Ross, Terry Ross, Audrey Wendell, Nancy Ross, Edonna (Mike) Akers, and Kelly (Robert) Vaisey; mother-in-law, Ruth Remington; brother-in-law, William (Cynthia) Remington; sister-in-law, Cathy (Woody) Chisom. He also leaves behind a special niece, Melissa McLaughlin, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, to whom he loved all.
Friends may call on Chuck’s family from 2 to 4 pm, Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation, at 4 pm, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Charles’ memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, to honor his love for his grandchildren.
Chuck’s family would like to thank Dr. Louis Gold for giving us four extra years to make special memories with Poppy, as well as the staff of 5 Brady Farrell at St. Peter’s Hospital, for the compassionate care during his many stays.
