Brant Lake
Robert E. Wilson, 79, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Mary Imogene Bassett Memorial Hospital, Cooperstown, following a long illness.
He was born on November 22, 1926 in Brant Lake, and was the son of Alec and Beatrice Hayes Wilson.
Robert spent 18 months in the Army from 1945-1946 at the end of WWII.
He was a carpenter for over 40 years, retiring in 1988 from Glens Falls Hospital.
Bob and his wife Eva were members of National Campers Association, enjoying family camping in the 1960’s. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Ft. Edward for 30 years, taking and active role in the vestry.
After retirement, he and his wife spent 15 years traveling and living in their Avion Trailer, visiting all 50 states. They resided at Sun Air RV Park in Haines City, Florida for 12 years. Bob and Eva returned each summer to Loon Lake to visit with their family. Robert was also an active member of St. Mark Church, Haines City, FL.
Robert is survived by his wife, Eva Caroline Hill Wilson of Jordanville; children, Caroline Wilson Bennett of Tucson, AZ and Robert W. Wilson and his wife, Cindy of Jordanville; grandchildren, Pamela Heil her husband, Christopher and sons, Jason and Shakoda of Queensbury, Scott Bennett his wife, Kara and their children, Matthew and Isabella of Queensbury, Susanne Wilson and her daughters, Jessica and Kathleen of Ilion and Andrew Wilson his fiance’, Chrissy and daughter Regan of Mohawk; a brother, Arthur John Wilson and his wife, Gertrude of Warrensburg and Trenton, FL; sisters, Ruth Ackermann of Malta and Nancy Harp and her husband, Eldrid of Brant Lake; nephews Mark Wilson and wife, Carol of Brant Lake, Gary Wilson and wife, Jill of Queensbury, Louis Vende II and wife, Jane of Porters Corners; nieces Carmela MacKey and husband, Barry of MO, Rose McIver and husband, Steve of PA and Sherry Cleveland and husband, John of KY.
A memorial service will be held at Robert’s home church, St. Paul’s Adirondack Mission, Brant Lake at 11am on Thursday, June1, 2006, with the Rev. Robert Limpert officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial service, and or the reception at the Horicon Town Hall, Brant Lake, immediately following the service. Burial will be held at 2 pm Thursday in the Warrensburg Cemetery.

Brant Lake, N.Y. Eva is currently staying with her son at 127 Cook Road, Jordanville, N.Y.
