Obituary of Alan B. Converse

Queensbury: Alan B. Converse, 62, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 at Glens Falls Hospital, after a long illness. Born August 23, 1952 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Roberta (Petrie) Converse of Queensbury and the late Barry Converse. Alan enjoyed the outdoors, camping with his children, and was known well for telling epic stories. He worked at his father’s business throughout his younger years, and was a past board member of the Hemophilia Federation of America. In addition to his father, Alan was predeceased by his wife, Katherine Converse, his aunt, Yolanda Frasier, and a nephew, Danny Brooks. Besides his mother, he is survived by his three children, Courtney Converse and her companion, Glen Shaw, of Cambridge, Wesley Converse of Richmond, VA, and Makayla Converse of Queensbury; four grandchildren, Arianna and Calista Converse and Hailey and Jackson Shaw; his siblings, Lalonie Kowalski and her husband, Stan; Knox Converse and her companion, Kevin Greene, Tyler Converse and his companion, Liz, and Valerie Converse; and his companion, Kathleen Lamagdeleine, along with her family. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. A graveside service will take place at 10 am, Monday, April 20, 2015 in Warrensburg Cemetery. There are no calling hours scheduled.
