Dear John, Bob and families,
My grandson, Ammon Saunders, upon learning of Pat's passing, said: "Aunt Pat was so awesome! She will be missed but she is sure in a good place now."
Pat was a loving, kind and compassionate person. She was devoted to her siblings. She was especially close to Ann, her eldest sister, who was a great friend and substitute mother to Pat. Ann, who died at age 93, suffered from Alzheimer's disease for several years. Pat called her, checked on her, wrote her notes and visited her as frequently as possible. As my mother-in-law's caregiver I relied on Pat's loving support, encouragement and advice.
Pat never missed one of my husband's 75 birthdays. She was something else! Love her much and will miss her presence.

My Aunt Pat was a wonderful person who was very smart and kept up on all the news. She talked about family and her friends, world events and she gave me a lot of family genealogy. What a mind she had right up to the last day I spoke to her on July 1. She battled this lung problem for years and her eye problem but remained strong. My condolences to her wonderful sons, Bob and John and their families. May we always stay in touch.

Mrs. Olden was my math teacher when I was in seventh grade in 1957. She was one of my all-time favorite teachers. One of her favorite sayings was, "Now get this through your heads......!"

I believe I was the luckiest girl in the world to have gotten Pat as my mother in law. She was an amazing lady, a great mom, a faithful friend and an awesome Grandma to our kids. I already miss our talks and visits. Life will not be the same without you, Pat, but you will be with us always.

She was about the only bright spot in math for me during school. I took her Business Arithmetic class and learned a lot of practical things--like writing a check. My sister and I remarked we still write a check (when we do) the same way Pat taught us. I liked that she didn't take any crap, yet wasn't thrown by much. Talk a lot about your memories. I'll bet you have a lot of them.

My deepest sympathies to the Olden family. Mrs Olden was one of the great educators. She made you understand how important it was to get an education, and how numbers affect you throughout your whole life. She was stern, but I certainly respected her and learned.
