Corinne (Jewell) Wamsley, 86, of North Creek, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 30, 2007 at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born October 1, 1920 in Woodhaven, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Beatrice (Denning) Jewell.
Corinne attended the University of Georgia and served in the US Navy during WW II.
She married William F. Wamsley on June 27, 1947. She enjoyed her role as a housewife and mother. She and her husband lived in Olmstedville for many years before moving about the country and residing in Arizona, South Carolina, Kansas and Texas to name a few.
Besides cooking, reading, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family, her goal was to see as much of the country as possible.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William Wamsley, who passed away on June 21, 1988 after 41 years of marriage; her two sons, Jim and David Wamsley, and one brother, Philip Jewell.
She leaves behind her daughters, Priscilla Killon and her husband, Jack of Indian Lake, Patricia Langford and her husband, David of Tucson, AZ,; her daughter-in-law, Kathleen B. Wamsley of Olmstedville; her seven grandchildren, Carmin C. Wamsley of Olmstedville, Crystal A. Smith and her husband, Scott of Queensbury, Scott M. Wamsley and his wife, Jennifer of Olmstedville, Bill J. Killon and his wife, Jill of Vergennes, VT, James M. Killon of Clifton Park, Daniel D. and Paul D. Langford of Tucson AZ; one great granddaughter, Caitlin Wamsley of Olmstedville; one step great granddaughter, Amanda Bellotti of Olmstedville; one soon to be grandson, Corey James Smith of Queensbury; a sister-in-law, Virginia Argeropoulos; and several nephews and nieces.
At Corinne’s request, no calling hours will be scheduled.
A private graveside memorial service will be conducted at the convenience of the family in the Federal Flats Cemetery, Olmstedville.
