Barbara Lynn Fish, 52, of Elm Street, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Born April 28, 1956 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Ernest (Bud) and Ina (Davis) Smith.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and married Gregory D. Fish on October 1, 1982.
In addition to raising her family, Barb also worked at the former Embassy Shirt Factory, Continental Insurance Co., Travelers Insurance Co. and for the last eight years in the Warrensburg billing office of Hudson Headwaters Health Network before the onset of her illness. She also enjoyed helping look after the late Susie Toney.
Her favorite pastimes included spending time with her family, especially with her new grandson, helping out at family functions and fire company fundraisers.
Besides her parents, her aunt, Jane Combs, her brother in law, Stephen Burch have both predeceased her.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Gregory D. Fish of Warrensburg; her children, Stacy Amanda Fish, Erin Nicole Fish and Andrew Micheal Fish all of Warrensburg; her sister, Judy Burch of Warrensburg; grandson, Nicholas Kelly of Warrensburg; aunt, Fay Sherman of Bolton Landing; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Barbara’s family from 1-3 and 6-8 pm Tuesday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
Members of the Warrensburg Vol. Fire Co. will gather at the funeral home at 7 pm Tuesday and pay their respects.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 8 pm Tuesday, following the visitation at the funeral home with the Rev. Lee B. Call, pastor of the Faith Baptist Church officiating.
Spring burial will take place in the Warrensburg Cemetery.
