Obituary of Stanley D. Johnson

Warrensburg: Stanley D. Johnson, 85, of Oak Street, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at his home with his family at his side, following a courageous 18 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born October 20, 1930 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Bernard and Emma (Roberts) Johnson. He married Mildred V. Bennett on December 24, 1949 in Warrensburg. Stan was employed by the Warren County Department of Public Works as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed being outside, garage saleing, camping, and woodworking. In addition to his parents, Stan was predeceased by his siblings, Pauline Johnson, Irma Baumgart, and Gary Johnson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mildred Johnson of Warrensburg; three daughters, Sandra Reif and her husband, Michael, of Victor, Wendy DeLoria and her husband, Philip, of Clifton Park, and Debra Goodnow of Warrensburg; grandchildren, Gina (Michael) Boomershine, Christie Patton, Michael (Liz) Reif, Jr., Melissa (Stephen Kane) DeLoria, Jason (Beth) DeLoria, Corey (Lisa) Mead, Amanda (Darrick) Christian, Andrew Mead, Zachary (Dani) Mead. He also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Stan’s family from 1 to 2 pm, Friday, April 22, 2016 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation at 2 pm, Friday, at the funeral home with Rev. Lee Call, Pastor of the Faith Baptist Church of Warrensburg, officiating. Burial will follow in Warrensburg Cemetery. Stan’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Steve Emerson and the Warrensburg Emergency Squad, John Kennedy, and Kelly, Denise, Regina, and Heather for the exceptional care provided throughout his illness.
