Robert E Alden, 86 of Jon Kay Rd passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December29, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born September 5, 1929 in Albany, he was the son of the late James Alden and Alice (Beane) Alden
Bob worked retail sales for the majority of his life. Working for Montgomery Wards , Caldors, and J.C Penney’s. He was very well liked and respected by his coworkers. When not working he could be found reading a good book or listening to his favorite jazz music. He had a passion for cars and could talk endlessly about them. In his later years he enjoyed his dogs especially his four-legged buddy Rex.
He is survived by his children James Alden and his companion, Kelly of west Glens Fall ;Kathy Haley and her husband Gene of AR ; Robert Alden and his wife Bridget of TN ; Thomas Ransom and his wife Dawn of KY ; Martina Redington and her husband Dirk of Chestertown ; Patrick Ransom and his wife Missy of little Falls ; Shandra Hayes and her husband Gary of Fort Edward ; John Ransom and his wife Stephanie of VA ; his sister Kay Bordeau and her husband Bill; his ex-wife and lifelong friend, Julianne White of Hudson Falls ; Grandchildren Shanna Hayes, Grant Hayes, Yvonne Hayes, Garrett Hayes, Ryan Redington, Kyle Redington, Justin Redington, Nicole Ransom, Noah Ransom, Mike Ransom; Great grandchildren Harper Hayes, Jayda Ransom, Carter Ransom ; Nephews, Jack McDonald ; Mike McDonald ; Mark McDonald ; William McDonald several cousins and great nieces and nephews
At Bob’s request there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
His family would like to invite family and friends to a gathering to celebrate Bob’s life on Saturday, January 9, 2015 from 1 to 5 pm at his daughter’s house located at 8 Jon Kay Rd Fort Edward, NY.
