We are very saddened to hear of Bill's passing. We didn't do a very good job keeping in touch over the years, but I recall many good times during our younger days when family would get together and share holidays and events. "Billy" was always the cool older cousin that drove us around in his car and kept us out of trouble!
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Mr. Gordon was a brilliant man - I was fortunate enough to have been a student at Lake George until my graduation in 2005. He was always committed to his job and the students, and it would often blow my mind how much detail he retained about our interests and extra-curricular activity. As a member of the girl's soccer team, you can bet I was always on the receiving end of some gameplay tips from Mr. Gordon the next morning. We all thought of him as an unofficial extra coach for the sports teams, and he would tell it to you straight when you messed up. He was also extremely interested in photography (what would become my career) and whenever we used the library computers for our photo classes, he was engaged in our work and helpful in navigating the trials and limitations of building a website in the early 2000s!
He was there for his students in small ways when they faced setbacks. In my junior year of highschool I was going through several major health issues that made it hard to get through the day. Every free period I had was spent sleeping in the nurse's office or in his library. He could have kicked me out, but he didn't. Eventually those health issues led to kidney disease and most recently, a transplant. It was kind and exceptional of him to recognize I was in pain and offer that small help, when other teachers at the school did not want to offer understanding, only condescension. Thank you Mr. Gordon! My best wishes to the family and friends of this man.

The students and staff at LGHS were fortunate to have Bill in their lives. He was always there with his camera ready to capture some special moment and give them a copy for a memory. As principal I appreciated Bill's support with so many issues including a major designing of a new library. My deepest sympathy goes out to Andy and Mary.

Bill, I so wish I had met you. Talking to Sherry as often as I do, I feel tho, like I know you. Please watch over Sherry as she is missing your presence in a big way.
What an interesting career you had, Bill. The three of us, one day when we are all reunited, will share some great teaching stories.
Hug our Sherry often, Bill. Let her feel your presence.

We were shocked and saddened to learn of Bill's passing. He was always generous with his time and talent while we worked together at LGHS. I especially remember the wonderful times we had when he and I went on "digs" with my Local History classes. Brings a smile to my face in remembrance.

My sincere condolences to Bill's family. I enjoyed working with Bill for 15 years at LG. His first concern was for "the kids," and even when the teams I coached might have lost, Bill was always there with a kind word the next morning! He was a good man.
