Obituary of Ronald T. Nugent

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Queensbury: Ronald T. “Ron” Nugent, 73, of Evergreen Lane, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born June 5, 1945 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Bernadette (Campian) Nugent. He married Patricia Lurz on April 13, 1984 in Queensbury. They enjoyed nearly 40 years of great memories and countless laughs together. Ron was a well-known face in the area, working at many local restaurants, most notably the Hidden Valley Ranch, Silver Star Diner and Prospect Diner. He was a true foodie at heart and thoroughly enjoyed eating, cooking, and catching up with Rocco and Todd at Capri Pizza for a pie (and he ate all but one slice of the pie). Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and cruising with his wife and friends. He was always willing to go above and beyond for his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was the life of the party, a practical joker and always left an impression with his quick wit, limericks, jokes and infectious smile. He was always there if you needed a hug. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a granddaughter, Sierra Gore. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Lurz-Nugent of Queensbury; children, Patty Webster and her husband, Rich of Warrensburg, Susan Lambert and her husband, Donnie of Chestertown, Gene Baird and his wife, Wendi, of Warrensburg, and Kim Gore of Pearl River; grandchildren, Evelyn McFarren and her husband, Michael of South Glens Falls, Jessica Cook and her companion J Manning of Hudson Falls, Jacqueline Wright of Warrensburg, Kristen Staff and her husband, Greg of El Paso, TX, Joshua Baird and his companion, Michelle of Warrensburg, Justin Baird and his wife, Victoria of Warrensburg, Bradley, Crystal, Kenneth and Connor of Pearl River ; great-grandchildren, William, Cameron, Louis, Morgen, Alivia, Arianna, Madilyn, Michael, Jr.; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Ron’s family from 2 to 4 pm, Monday, February 18, 2019 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation at 4 pm, at the funeral home with Fr. Thomas Pettigrew, officiating. Spring burial will be conducted in Chester Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of “passing it Forward” with a random act of kindness, just as Ron did throughout his lifetime.
