Obituary of Dorothy M. McPhee

Warrensburg: Dorothy M. McPhee, 89, of Jenny Jill Drive, passed away, Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness. Born May 28, 1918 in Charlestown, MA, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Anna (Bradley) Sweeney. Dorothy married Lawrence J. McPhee on April 25, 1943 in Weymouth, MA. The couple resided in Beachwood, NJ, Dorothy raising the children while her husband spent a career with the US Navy. They retired to Warrensburg in 1984 and became communicants of St. Cecilia’s RC Church. Her husband, Lawrence passed away on July 10, 1998 after 55 years of marriage. She is also predeceased by her five brothers. Survivors include her three sons, Lawrence McPhee Jr. of Puyallup WA, Robert McPhee of Warrensburg, Gary McPhee and his wife, Debra of Beachwood, NJ; three grandsons, Jason, Neil and Robert; three granddaughters, Megan, Debra and Jessica; four great grandchildren. Friends may call on Dorothy’s family from 7-9 pm Friday evening at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Funeral services will be conducted 1 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Lake George. Memorial donations may be made to the Warrensburg EMS, PO Box 157, Warrensburg, NY 12885.
