Dr. Walter D. Moore Jr. retired pathologist passed away June 5, 2011 at his home in League City, Texas.
He was born September 29, 1924 in Houston, Texas to Walter D. Moore and Mary N. (Kincaid) Moore.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Barbara Farrar Moore; daughters, Diane E. Moore and Michelle L. Moore and son Michael A. Moore; granddaughters Dr. Rachel E. Mathers and husband Dr. Charles H. Mathers, Anna C. L. Lassmann; grandsons James W.J. Lassmann and Aaron M.K. Lassmann.
He served in the 10th Army, in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign of War World II, Leyte, and Okinawa.
He attended the University of Texas and graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 1952. Board Certified in Pathology and Nuclear Medicine Fellow: American Society of Clinical Pathology, and College of American Pathologists. Member of Society of Nuclear Medicine, American College of Radiology, American College of Nuclear Physicians. Member of Sons of the Republic of Texas and Sons of the American Revolution.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June10, 2011 at 11:30am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1612 E. Walker St., League City, Texas 77573 with Father Howard Drabek officiating.
A Grave Side ceremony will be conducted at 11 am, Friday, June 17, 2011 in Warrensburg Cemetery with Father Paul Cox presiding and under the direction of Alexander Baker Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers you may send memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Church Building Fund, address 1612 E. Walker St., League City, Texas 77573.
