Hudson Falls: May Winifred “Winnie” Maille, 83, of Hudson Falls went into the arms of the Lord, Monday, Aug. 13 at Glens Falls Hospital after a long illness. Born March 2, 1924 in Strafford, London England Winnie was the daughter of the late Arthur and Isabelle Coxall of London, England. Winnie served in the Royal Artillary Heavy Ack Ack, from April 22, 1942 until July 10, 1946 at which time she met Harvey “Pete” Maille, who was stationed in England and they were married in England on Sept. 30, 1944. Winnie and Pete came to the United States in 1946 where they resided at 11 Pine Street, Hudson Falls. Winnie along with her husband Pete owned and operated Winnie and Pete’s Restaurant in the Hudson Falls/Kingsbury area for 32 years. Winnie also worked at the GE in Fort Edward and later at NAMIC until her retirement. Winnie enjoyed BINGO, horse racing, casinos and most of all her time with her family. Later in life she enjoyed watching Yankee Baseball with her husband Pete. Her family will always remember her as a very loving and caring person that always put her family first. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Pete; three brothers, all of England, John Coxall, David Coxall and Benjamin Coxall; three sisters, Maud Gosling, Helen Scotto and Isabelle Cuttler. Survivors include her brothers, Terry Coxall, Dennis Coxall and William Woodman all of England. Also a very special nephew, Charles Gosling of England. Winnie also is survived by one son, Stephen Maille and his wife Kristy of Hudson Falls; one daughter, Simone Muratorri and her husband Joe of Hudson Falls. Her grandchildren Nicholas Maille and Jessica Maille of Hudson Falls, Peter McCarthy of Glens Falls, Jenny McCarthy of Glens Falls and Andrew Muratorri of Hudson Falls. Also several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours at her request. A mass will be celebrated Thurs. Aug. 16 at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s/St. Pauls Hudson Falls. Reception will follow at McMannis Hall after the mass. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. The family would like to express a special thank you for all the wonderful care at Fort Hudson Nursing home, the Doctors at Hudson Headwaters and the staff at Glens Falls Hospital.
