Obituary of Robert E. Smith

Athol: Robert E. Smith, 67 of Athol Road, passed away, Saturday, December 10, 2005 at his home after being stricken by a heart attack. Born December 12, 1937 in Warrensburg, he was the son of the late John and Louise (Hewitt) Smith. Robert was a career painter and worked in Florida for many years. He also worked with his brother locally in his painting contractor business in the past. Robert was an avid NASCAR fan and also enjoyed long drives around the area. Survivors include his four children, Lisa, Robert Jr, John and Joseph; his sister, Constance Stanczyk and her husband, Richard of West Winfield; two brothers, John Smith Jr. of Warrensburg, Alan Smith and his wife, Dianna of Charleston, SC; his aunt, Doris “Dot” Orton of Warrensburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 2 pm Wednesday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Thurman EMS, Athol, NY 12801 in Mr. Smith’s memory.
