Obituary of Maravene D. Lawrence

Bakers Mills:
Maravene D. Lawrence, 77, of Goodman Rd., passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Glens Falls Hospital, with her loving family by her side.
Born November 11, 1936 in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late Earle C. and Nedra (Huddleston) Holland.
Maravene enjoyed playing Yahtzee and watching Sprint Cup races, cheering on her favorite driver, Jimmie Johnson.
Besides spending time with her grandchildren; Jimmie Johnson, the love of her life; next came Bob and Josie Stockert, as she spent every summer at their camp on the Ausable River, and they affectionately nicknamed her Mary.
She married Theodore M. Lawrence, Jr. on July 14, 1954; he passed away in 1993.
Besides her parents, and husband, Ted, Maravene was predeceased by a grandson, Lester Moffitt, Jr., and two brothers, David “Bear” and Rodney Holland.
She is survived by her companion, David Baker of Bakers Mills; three daughters, Linda Moffitt and her husband, Roger and Dorothy Moffitt all of Wevertown; Debra Bacon and her companion, Lewis Hitchcock of Bakers Mills; three sons, James Lawrence and his wife, Robin of Bakers Mills, Timothy Lawrence of Ticonderoga, and Wayne Brewster of Johnsburg; a sister, Diane Cleveland and her husband, David of North Creek; sister-in-law, Rita Holland of Brant Lake; daughter-in-law, Deanne Pecor, of Igerna. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as her beloved four legged, furry friends, Ausable and Nemo.
Friends may call on Maravene’s family from 3 to 5 pm, Monday, June 16, 2014 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg.
A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitiation, at 5 pm, at the funeral home with Rev. Ronald Allen officiating.
Burial will take place privately, at the convenience of the family in Bates Cemetery, Johnsburg.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Maravene’s memory to the Johnsburg Emergency Squad or the Bakers Mills Volunteer Fire Department.
