William J. Waldron, 60, of Osborne Street, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Glens Falls Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family.
Born December 11, 1951 in North Creek, he was the son of the late Daniel V. and Emma (Harvey) Waldron.
Will began dating Andie Miner while working at Smith’s Restaurant and eventually wed on September 12, 1976 and shortly thereafter, relocated to Latham and started their family.
He worked as district manager and then audit and control for Midon Restaurant Corp. for many years until 1992, when he started his own business, Waldron’s Painting and General Contracting.
In 2008, Will and his wife moved back to North Creek where they partnered to reopen Smith’s as Andie’s Restaurant at Smith’s.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Daniel G. Waldron and sister, Lois Hoffis.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Andie Waldron of North Creek; his children: Alexandra Del Re, and her husband, Ryan of Pottersville; William Garit Waldron and his wife, Robin of Latham; Hillary Waldron of North Creek; several grandchildren; siblings: Linda Patterson and her husband, John; Londa Rowe and her husband, Robert; Loretta D’Escallare and her husband, Mancione; Lana Varney and her husband, Albert; Lanette Waldron; Laura Waldron; Lenore Hanchett and her husband, Gary; Larry V. Waldron; and Lisa Fairbairne and her husband, Kevin; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call on Will’s family from 2 to 4 pm, Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am, Monday, January 9, at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Main St., North Creek with Fr. John O’Kane, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the North Country Hardship Fund or the Town of Johnsburg Food Pantry.
