Obituary of Ruth M. Trenary

Warrensburg Ruth M. Latham Trenary, 88, of Horicon Ave., passed away Sunday, May 21, 2006 at her home following a long illness surrounded by her loving family. Born March 12, 1918 in Warrensburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Washburn) Millington. She graduated from Warrensburg High School at the top of her class and went on to attend Albany Business School. Ruth and her first husband of 24 years, Frederick Latham, raised their five children before his passing on February 26, 1965. She married Hugh Trenary in 1966 and assisted him in running his florist shop in Warrensburg. Hugh passed away December 5, 1993 after 27 years together. Her favorite pastime included gardening, horticulture and her beloved cat, Peppy. Besides her parents and husbands, her youngest daughter, Edna Jo “Shilo” Latham; her brother, William Millington and his wife, Rachael and her grandson, Michael McNeill have also died before her. Survivors include her son, John F. Latham of Warrensburg; her three daughters, Ethel Desjardin and her husband, Gil of Vermont, Virginia Latham and Linda McNeill and her husband, Gerald Sr. both of Warrensburg; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jason and Katrina Latham, Gordon, Fred, Gerald Jr. and Bryan McNeill; two great grandchildren, Stephanie and James; niece, Carolyn Dorrance and her daughters, Amy and Beth. Funeral services will be conducted 2 pm Thursday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg with the Rev. Dawn Robbins, Pastor of the Warrensburg First United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call on Ruth’s family one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Warrensburg Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Cancer Society.
