Obituary of Stephanie Lynn Gossen

ATHOL: Stephanie Lynn (MacNeill) Gossen, 72, of Athol, NY, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 23, 2024, at Glens Falls Hospital, with her sons and daughter-in-law by her side.

Born on July 13, 1952, in Athol, New York, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Yvonne (Miller) MacNeill. She attended Warrensburg High School, graduating in 1970. Afterward, she worked various odd jobs around town before joining 1000 Acres Ranch in 1973, where she met her future husband, Kenny Gossen. They were married on April 6, 1974. In 1976, they returned to Montana and moved to the family ranch, where they worked for three years. In 1979, Kenny and Stephanie relocated to Glendive, where she began her career in the medical field. During this time, Stephanie attended college and earned her RN degree. In 1997, they moved back to upstate New York, where Stephanie enjoyed a fulfilling career at Glens Falls Hospital, retiring in 2015.

After retirement, she cared for her parents and her husband during his final days. When Stephanie wasn’t working as a nurse, she loved scrapbooking, gardening, and spending time with her girlfriends. In the winter, she enjoyed trips to Arizona to be with her grandkids and great-grandson, bringing her two fur babies, Smoke and Cooper, along with her.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Jeremy Gossen of Texas, and Jason (Tasha) Gossen of Arizona; grandchildren Halie and Jason Jr., and one great-grandson, Kaiden, all of Arizona.

The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and doctors at Glens Falls Hospital for all of there amazing care, comfort and effort.

Friend’s may call on Stephanie’s family from 3pm – 5pm, Friday, January 3, 2024 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg, NY. A funeral service will follow visitation at 5pm.
