NORTH CREEK: Michael B. Durkin, 68 years young, a life-long resident of North Creek, NY, passed away peacefully, with his loving family at his side on October 25, 2024.
Mike was born on December 3, 1955, at Glens Falls Hospital to the late William and Dorothy (Lavergne) Durkin. He grew up in North Creek and attended Johnsburg Central School, graduating in 1975. His career at Gore Mountain began in his teenage years, where he devoted over 50 years as a skilled lift mechanic, a role that reflected his dedication and passion for his work.
Mike enjoyed golfing and spent many years coaching and umpiring Little League, sharing his love for the game with young players. He was a friendly, likeable person who made friends easily and was known for his playful side, often pulling pranks with a big grin on his face.
Besides his parents, Mike is predeceased by his son Christopher Durkin.
