LAKE GEORGE – Courtney Elizabeth Oswald, 34, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Glens Falls Hospital, following a brief illness.
Born on March 29, 1990, in Rockville Center, NY, Courtney was the cherished daughter of Joseph and Peggi (Seymour) Oswald.
Courtney’s kind and compassionate spirit touched everyone she met. She dedicated her life to her loved ones and her work, always putting others first. As an advocate for children in her role at the Office of Child Preventive Services, she went above and beyond to ensure the children in her care received the love, support, and attention they deserved.
A lover of animals, Courtney’s heart was forever with her late fur babies—Meow, Whiskers, Bell and Roxy. She found joy in the wildlife of the Adirondacks, delighting in the creatures she captured on her trail camera.
Courtney is reunited in heaven with her beloved grandmothers, Anne and Constance, her grandfather John and her Uncle Charlie.
She leaves behind her parents, Joseph and Peggi; her brothers, Matthew and Joseph; her grandfather, Dave; her uncles, John and Chris; her aunts, Cheryl, Michelle, Donna, and Carla; her cherished German Shepherd nephew, Atlas; and many cousins, friends, colleagues, and clients. Most dear to Courtney’s heart was her beloved dog, Bentley James, whom she adored with all her being.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Courtney’s memory may be made to Adirondack Save a Stray, P.O. Box 185, Corinth, NY 12822, or online at www.adirondacksaveastray.org.
