Obituary of Fred J. Ferrara
BRANT LAKE: Fred J. Ferrara, 79 years old, of Brant Lake, NY, passed away with his beloved wife, daughter and grandchildren by his side on June 22, 2024 at Albany Medical Center.
Fred was born on May 2, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Philip and Sadie (Buccelato) Ferrara. He graduated from high school and continued his education at the College of New Mexico. After returning to New York, he began working in construction before becoming an electrician with the Local 3 Union, where he worked for 27 years until his retirement. Some of his favorite accounts included MOMA, the Bronx Zoo, and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Fred met the love of his life, Sandra in 1985, out dancing on a Saturday night. They were married on December 11, 1994.
After retiring, Fred and Sandra had a home built in Brant Lake, where they created a beautiful life together. Fred's passion was his 1937 Chevy Coupe, which he proudly showcased at numerous car shows in the area, winning many trophies over the years. The greatest joy in Fred's life was spending time with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Bampy.” His family remembers him as patient, kind and loving; always taking time to cook with them, play with them, and laugh with them.
Fred is predeceased by his parents Philip and Sadie Ferrara.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sandra Ferrara; daughters Ilena Corr and Stacey (Joe) Egenberger; grandchildren Erin and Ronan Corr and Braelynn and Rylee Egenberger; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Fred’s family from 1pm – 3pm, Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg, NY. A memorial service will follow visitation at 3pm with Father Joseph Busch officiating.
