NORTH CREEK: The “Mayor of IGERNA, NY” Henry E. Frasier joined his loving wife Betty with loved ones by his side on the morning of May 31, 2024.

Assigned to the 52nd ORD Ammo Co, he earned the Korean War Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. In 2015, Henry was very proud to have been accompanied by his friend Barb on the North Country Honor Flight to visit Washington D.C.

Henry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to many. He was a man of many talents. He spent a career in the construction industry working for Callanan Industries cutting in the right of way and building what is now Interstate 87 (Adirondack Northway), he worked for the Town of Chester in different capacities.

Henry was notably, one heck of a horseman. Up until around the age of 80, he would draw big white pine from the woods in the winter months when he was not pulling kids on a sleigh. Summers were spent mowing and raking fields with his teams of horses. From setting power poles on Gore Mountain to taking hunters into Eleventh Mountain. Henry not only organized horse pulls locally, he showcased his talents hooking a team to sled while the horses’ keen ears waiting for that click.

Henry was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting big Adirondack bucks, running snowshoe hare with his beagles and enjoyed fishing for speckled trout. He harvested a beautiful 21-point buck in 1950 days before leaving for the Army and harvested his last buck on November 26, 2023 just a mere three days before turning 95, a beautiful 8-point buck.

Henry loved baking many different desserts, snacks, and meals for his family and friends. His famous dish of baked beans covered with pure maple syrup and bacon were a staple at gatherings he attended. Spring time you could find Henry sitting by a wood fired stove turning sap collected from maple trees on the homestead into maple syrup that he would share a pint with visitors. He loved reading western novels, Draft Horse Journal and the Good Book.

The family would like to give a special heart felt thank you to Garrett Seabury from Fort Hudson Nursing Service for his devotion and time spent caring for Henry. Along with Dr. Judkins, who he always looked forward to seeing. Also, thank you to the staff at HHHN North Creek Health Center for their care and compassion towards Henry.

Henry will be dearly missed and in lieu of flowers, the family is asking any contributions or donations to be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, locally or at the national level.
