Obituary of Robert A. Johnston
WEVERTOWN: Robert "Bob" Johnston (age 57) a beloved husband, father, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on April 19th, 2024 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 21st, 1966 in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada to loving parents who have preceded him in death.
Bob worked as truck driver most of life but especially loved working for Hayes Trucking LLC for the last 14 years. Bob’s family want to send a special thanks to Donny, Michelle and family for all their support, kindness and most importantly friendship throughout the years.
Bob spent many years protecting the people of our local communities as Chief of Wevertown and Johnsburg Fire Departments. He was a member of the Chestertown and Wevertown Fire Departments. Bob had a passion for race cars and monster trucks and has enjoyed spending time at both sports with his family. A wonderful quality of Bob’s was his desire to help people. He would do anything for anyone who needed it.
Bob was a very hardworking and generous man who leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Bob was the devoted husband of Roxanne Johnston for 19 beautiful years. He was a very proud father of Terri, Dusty, Noah and Alesha. He was the proud grandfather of 15-year-old Jacob. He was a supportive brother of Veronica (Kevin Jaekel) and their sons, Bryce and Brandon. Bob also had a special connection with Alesha’s boyfriend, Griffin Lambert, who he would call his “son-in-law”. He leaves behind many friends, most of whom he thought of as family.
Friends are invited to call on Bob’s family from 4pm – 5pm, Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg, NY. A memorial service will take place at 5pm.
