Dear Sue, Linda, and family..... There actually are no words that can fully describe the hurt of losing such an extraordinary woman. Your mom had her fingers in many wonderful charities through school, the town, North Country Ministry, etc. But I think of her primarily in two ways: as half of an awesome couple, "Alice and Ed"; Alice as the embodiment of St. Cecilia's Church. Alice quickly offered a compliment when it was deserved- she knew how to affirm and build people up. She gently shared her (great) wisdom when appropriate, never pushing it on folks or acting as if she had the final insight (although she often did!). Alice knew her gifts and offered them. She was a welcome member in any ministry or on any committee. She was creative, responsible, and followed through, all with seriousness balanced with laughter. Alice was very welcoming, called people by name, inquired as to their well-being. She reached out to those in need, especially anyone homebound or not well enough to come to church. Anyone who knew Alice could add a hundred of her virtues to this list. She will be missed deeply, but her spirit will always remain at St. C's. Thank you, Alice, for showing us what a disciple of Jesus looks like. (PS Whenever I had to write something important or public, I would email it to Alice so she could check the spelling, grammar, and punctuation before it went to press. This was one of her many personal ministries to me! I look forward to seeing Alice and Ed again.)

Alice was my Godmother. I cherish the memories I have of her, from the photo of her as a young woman holding me at my baptism, to attending my college graduation. There were years visiting in Albany when Alice and her girls came for back-to-school shopping and trips to Warrensburg with my mother to attend the Adirondack Balloon Festival (and all the pre-dawn trips to the airport). When my husband and I lived in Alaska, Alice would send care packages of Oscar’s from Warrensburg. We always took her to lunch when we visited. She knew everyone in the place, no matter where we went, and everyone knew Alice.
Condolences to the family. Sheila Doody Bishop

We had the pleasure and privilege to work with and get to know Alice at Warrensburg Central School. She was truly an amazing lady. We remember seeing Alice and Ed while enjoying lunch at the Ice Cream Parlor or dinner at Bill's Restaurant. They appeared to be truly made for one another. Warrensburg has lost another great community member. You are missed, Alice.
