Dear Betz Family,
You may not remember me, but your dear mother took care of my mother-in-law, Ida Martin, and later, my own mother, Marian McKenzie, for ten years! Your wonderful dad and I stayed in touch for quite a few years after Lee died and then we lost touch. I have thought of your father so much and was terribly sad to hear that he had died and that I never saw him again.
Please accept my deep sympathy for your loss and know that I am thinking of you.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to John's family. I worked for your parents many years ago as a caregiver in their home. I remember one morning, I took bus down to Middlebury and he was driving. We started chatting and he said him and his wife used to live there. I was like omg...John Betz!! He was a one of a kind person!

I have spent the past six days with Marilyn Hammond, my father’s wife for the past 11 years. Marilyn and my father were very happy together living a simple life in a beautiful location in Fort Ann, NY. My time in their home was very pleasant. I sat where my father sat watching the birds come to the bird feeder, walked the fields they often walked, and enjoyed the beautiful views they had from every window of their home. I was blessed to meet Marilyn’s wonderful family members. I want to thank each and every one of them for the love they showed to my father in the final years of his life. He often told me about these people, and it was so nice to meet them all in person. I truly enjoyed meeting each and every one of you. I miss my mom every day and now it’s time to say goodbye to my dad. Love Mary, Dan, Jennifer, Christine, Shane, Borja, Maxwell, Oliver, Wesley, Lola, and Emma.

I knew and worked with John when he drove bus for Chittenden County Transit Authority. He was the nicest man I ever knew. Good natured, reliable and really a pleasure to know. May he rest in peace.

John and I loved traveling the back roads during the time of COVID 19. There are many pretty back roads to explore in Washington County. Before that we traveled to visit our families in Vermont, New York, Texas, Tennessee and Floida. We always enjoyed our tirps to Maine and New Brunswick.
We also loved playing golf in the small local courses in the area. Our first date was exploring Shelburne Museum. We have a beautiful Lilac bush that we got that day. We had many wonderful happy years together and many happy memories to carry me through the future.
