Queensbury:
Gail K. Sanford, age 69 of Queensbury, passed away Wednesday October 18th, 2023, at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born October 13th, 1954, in Watertown, NY she was the daughter of Eugene A. and Edna M. Salter Sanford. She attended La Fargeville Central School and later graduated from Adirondack Community College with an associate degree in business management.
Gail spent several years working in restaurants and came to own “Grandmas Corner Kitchen” where she prepared amazing home cooked specials as well as homemade breads and desserts that were always delicious and served with love. She later managed a Friendly’s restaurant for several years and continued to put her heart and soul into what she loved, serving her customers until she retired.
Gail loved antiques, crafting, using many of the Adirondacks natural resources to create art, lamps, and repurposed old silverware into wind chimes. She enjoyed hosting holiday feasts and baked several one-of-a-kind birthday cakes for her 5 granddaughters throughout the years. She enjoyed birdwatching and gardening. Gail loved visiting with friends over a cup of coffee and spending quality time with her family. As a long-time football enthusiast, she was a tried-and-true NY Giants fan and rarely missed a game. Gail will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, her infectious laugh, and awesome sense of “Sanford” humor. An amazing mom, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Besides her parents Gail is predeceased by her brothers Marc and Paul Sanford and her sisters Faith Sanford, Sharon Doldo and Marsha Ashland.
