Obituary of Wanda R. Wood

Schuylerville:

Wanda R. Wood, 82, passed away peacefully at her home at the Schuylerville IRA on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. She was a recent graduate from hospice and was determined to leave this earth on her terms, with the utmost dignity and respect.

Born March 9, 1941 in Thurman, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Leila (Fuller) Wood

Wanda was a sassy, fun loving girl who enjoyed a big hug and kiss, and to give her staff a great spanking. She loved to dress up as if she was attending Mardi Gras. She enjoyed her visits from Dr. Byron knowing that he would always bring her a bracelet.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters, Eileen Baker, Jackie Fonda, and Cheryl Greenholtz, and special friends, Gloria Carlton, Cathy Daly, and Robin Johnson.

She is survived by her sisters, Bonnie Witherbee and her companion, Dale Hoffman, and Robin Croissant; as well as several nieces, nephews, and all that loved her at Capital District DDSO.

Wanda’s sister, Robin would like to give special thanks to all who treated Wanda as family.

There are no calling hours or funeral serviced scheduled.

Burial will be conducted in Reynolds Cemetery, Thurman at the convenience of her family.
