Obituary of Mark Monroe

FORT EDWARD: Daryl Mark Monroe, 63, of Fort Edward, NY, son of the late Malcolm and Ursula (Baker) Monroe passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2023 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Mark came into this world on June 9, 1959. He graduated from Warrensburg High School in 1976 then attended Alfred State College graduating in 1978 with an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts.  

Mark moved back home after college working in numerous local restaurants, logging with his brother, Dave, in Human Resources for a local medical supply company and for the past 12 years Mark was employed by Warren, Washington ARC where he was affectionately known as “Gramps”.

When not working, Mark enjoyed adventures on his ATV with his good friend Joe, taking photos for his photography business and raising his beloved pugs.   

Besides his parents he is predeceased by his son Jason Monroe.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Jessica (Duane) Monroe-Smith and their children; brothers Donnie (Reine) Monroe of South Glens Falls, David (Kathy) Monroe of Warrensburg, Dale (Hildy) Monroe of Lake George, several nieces and nephews and his good friend Joe Steve’s.

A graveside service will be conducted at Noon, Friday, June 2, 2023 in Warrensburg Cemetery, Hudson Street, Warrensburg, NY.
