Q: How did you meet Gretchen?
A: Gret is gone but will never be forgotten. I first saw my sister Gret at our home on Coulter Road, in Johnsburg where she was born. Imagine! A baby sister! She was about an hour old. Yes, she was born at home. She was named for the midwife, Gretchen Ross, a lifelong friend of our mothers. Gret was BEAUTIFUL! She looked like an angel, blond curly hair and loads of it. Much prettier than her twin, he had brown straight hair. Gret grew but never too much, did she ever reach 5 feet? But her diminutive size never held her back. Tough as nails. She could sew, cook, and make you laugh while she was doing it. We are all sad to have her leave us, but so very thankful that she was with us. Love to all
