I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Hill. For me, he was the guy from Valley Road Maple that remembered me every year. It was always good to see him at Up Yonda every spring and of course, for pancake breakfast with their maple syrup. My condolences to the Hill family. I heard him tell stories of his teaching days and of the people he knew. He will be missed.

Nancy, Mike, and Beth: I was fortunate enough to know Mike and even more fortunate to call him “friend.” I first met Mike while working for Charlie Wood at Gaslight Village, where you could find Mike working around the rides. I was later fortunate enough to work with Mike while a teacher and administrator At Warrensburg Central School, where he was a school board member. I always enjoyed his “signature wave” while passing him on the road. Rest in peace, my friend . . . you have earned it.

I realized I wanted to be a teacher when I took Social Studies 7 with Mr. Hill. Mr. Hill not only taught us the subject matter but he also took an interest in his students. Mr. Hill’s support went beyond graduation, I subbed for Mr. Hill often and even had the pleasure of teaching his grandsons Tristin and Wyatt in Minerva Pre-K. The boys would always tell stories of “Pop” and we even took field trips to his sugar house. I loved and respected Mr. Hill very much, love and prayers to his family.

Mike you surely were a talented man with many skills for sure, you have passed many along the way to many people.
Tristen and Wyatt were your pride and joy, I could tell as I sat next to you watching Baseball or Football Games they were in.
We all will miss you for sure. Our deepest sympathies to Nancy, Beth, Mike, Tristen and Wyatt. God Bless Mike

I'll miss you, Tristan & Wyatt fishing at my place each spring. So many memories over our lifetime at Grandpa's farm where you learned how to tap trees & make your FABULOUS syrup that I send to all of my out of state friends...with bragging rights of course! Thank you, Mike, for always being Jeff's best friend and companion. You were like brothers, and you gave him such happiness. I'm so glad you're my family. You were a good man, and I was always proud to be your family! I'll miss you more than you'll know cousin! Rest In Peace and fish on with Gramp & Jeff. Much love to Nancy, Beth, Mike, Tristen & Wyatt. Love you, Kathy Pratt

Our family has many good memories of meeting up with’The Hills’ in York Beach Maine every year. Our kids were close in age and would wait for their arrival every year in July.Mike would tease me about how I once remarked that looking out on the ocean,Boone Island looked like a submarine surfacing.we would argue about which it really was.He was calm, funny and such a great guy.We send our condolences to Nancy,Beth ,Mike and the boys. much love ,Nancy and Bruce Ingraham,Beverly Ma.

Really enjoyed the years he taught, while I was in highschool...Johnsburg Central was truly a better place because of him. Adding Adirondack history, to a curriculum that was steadily moving away from teaching children of their roots... fighting to keep civics in students lives ...one who passionately cared about young people and how they were mentored. Condolences to the family and hundreds of humans he helped mold into better people. ❤️
