I remember Miss Donahue well. She and Harold (Joe) LaBarge were the Guidance counselors as I navigated my way through the Newark Valley High School. I remember her as a very gentle person. At the time, my father, Ed Babenzien was the Shop Teacher, and my mother, Bette, was also a teacher in N.V. They were all part of the "Old Guard" under Nathan T. Hall. Dad has fond memories of working with Helen. Your family has our sympathy.

My condolences to those Miss Donahue left behind. She was one of the best memories of N.V.C.S. that lingers with me still. She was a quality person, educator, and caring part of the Newark Valley community. The world is a poorer place for her absence.
