Obituary of Denise M. Smith

Warrensburg/Queensbury: Denise Michele Smith 61, a lifelong resident of Warrensburg, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2021 at her home. Denise most recently resided in Queensbury with her husband Kenneth Smith, and their two dogs Mila and Dexter all of whom she loved very much. Denise Michele was born on March 20, 1959 to Margaret and Roger Lemieux in Warrensburg. Denise graduated from Warrensburg Central School in 1977 and went on to receive her degree in clerical work. Over the years Denise established her own restaurant, The HomeTown Skillet, an accomplishment she was very proud of. Denise found her true passion working locally in Warrensburg as a server and cook, where she delighted everyone with her infectious smile, kind words and loving heart. Denise was also passionate about volunteering at the Warrensburg Fire Company. Ultimately she cherished spending time loving her sons, daughters and many grandchildren. In addition to her husband Kenneth Smith, Denise is survived by her children Andrea (Keith) Gillingham, Jamie Persons and his partner Jasmine, Kylie (Justin) Schaldone and Joshua Persons. Her siblings Mary Ford, Roger (Jeannie) Lemieux, Lanette (Jerry) Baker and Pierre Lemieux. Her grandchildren Gennah, Jordan, Michele, Shane, Daunte, Bryelle, Isabella, Sammy and Gunnar (on the way). Friends may call on Denise's family from 12 to 2 pm, Sunday, February 14, 2021 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, occupancy inside the funeral home will be limited and masks will be required. A memorial service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 2 pm.
