I am a resident of Riverdale since 1987 and met Mr Brown many times over the years when he came to purchase, and resell (!), the chometz from (to) Rabbi Willig. He was always the ultimate gentleman w regal bearing and a kind look. So polite and so very honest. Such a nice man. U are lucky to have had him as husband father and grandfather. He will be much missed.

He was a student of history and he was always great conversation. He could talk in detail about the Romans and the beauty of an artesian well.
His family had been sitting on the same porch since the 1920’s and he shared it with visitors-he made the best coffee and the best martinis for his guests.
He was the King of the Road and he deserved that title.
His life was filled with good spirits and good health for 88 years. He had the gift of the Irish and was a remarkable story teller.
He went quietly in his sleep on Saturday and he deserved that.
I’ll miss the Sunday dinners of French Toast and Bacon and more importantly I’ll miss the man.
RIP John Brown. 1932-2021.
Thinking of Gail and the family.
Sending Love-
All of Us-Your Northwoods Club Family.

We are so sad to learn of John's passing. We have such wonderful memories of the time we spent together talking over dinner or over tea in the pump house. Please know we're keeping you and your family in our prayers. Love, Howie and Kathy
