Obituary of Catherine S. Hayes

North Creek: Catherine S. Hayes, 82, of Whitewater Manor, passed away peacefully, Sunday, May 22, 2016, at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 30, 1933 in Milton, she was the daughter of the late Clesson and Nellie (Vanlew) Galusha. Catherine married Cecil Hayes in 1960. Besides spending time with her family and friends, she enjoyed camping, cookouts, reading, country music, fishing, and watching television. In addition to her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Cecil, one son, Jeffery Hayes, a step-daughter, Elizabeth Galusha, three sisters, one brother, and four grandchildren. She is survived by a brother, Roy Galusha; seven children, Francis Hayes of Warrensburg, Carl Hayes and his wife, Anne, of North Creek, Connie (Hayes) Wood of North Creek, Wanda LaPointe of Saratoga Springs, Daniel Hayes of Warrensburg, Deborah Hayes of Schroon Lake, and Kenneth Hayes of Lake Luzerne; a step-daughter, Doris Hayes of Saratoga Springs. She also leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Catherine’s family from 10 am to 12 noon, Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 12 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Minerva Baptist Cemetery.
