Warrensburg: Lorraine E. Dalaba, 86, formerly of Woodward Avenue, passed away peacefully Friday, December 9, 2011 at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born February 21, 1925 in the same home that she resided in her entire life in Warrensburg, she was the daughter of the late Miles and Minnie (Maloney) Towne. She was a lifelong resident of the area. Lorraine married Erwin H. Dalaba on March 28, 1958 at the Warrensburg First United Methodist Church; the couple spent 32 years together until his passing on November 26, 1991. She worked for the former Clark Glove Factory of Glens Falls for many years, and enjoyed taking care of several elderly friends in the area. She was a long time active member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross in Warrensburg. Besides her parents and her beloved husband, Erwin, she is predeceased by her sisters: Norma Fortune and Clara Hayes. She is survived by her two daughters: Melissa Harris and Rhonda Dalaba, both of Warrensburg; three grandchildren: Burton and Byron Karson, and Aleisha Sherwin; four great-grandchildren: Taylor, Abigail, Hunter, and Maddison Karson; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. At Lorraine’s request, there are no calling hours scheduled. A graveside service will be conducted 11 am, Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Warrensburg Cemetery with Fr. James Loughren, Rector of The Church of St. Sacrament, officiating. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Lorraine’s name to the Warrensburg EMS or the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross in Warrensburg. Lorraine’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at Westmount Health Facility for the outstanding care she received while residing there throughout the past two years.
