Reginald J. Needham, 83, of Fourth Ave., passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born December 19, 1930 in Warrensburg, he was the son of the late Reginald L. and Alice (Perkins) Needham.
Reg was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Warrensburg Central School in 1949.
He enlisted in the United Sates Air Force in 1950, where he was stationed at Sampson Air Force Base as a Staff Sergeant before his honorable discharge in 1954.
On February 17, 1951 he married Gail T. Altrock at the Methodist Church in Warrensburg.
He began his working years as a logger, then truck driver for a local construction company; following this, he was employed by the United States Postal Service, as a letter carrier in Warrensburg, retiring after 26 years of dedicated service.
Besides spending time with his family, Reg was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening; he was also a NASCAR enthusiast.
Besides his parents, Reggie was predeceased by his half-sister, Pamela Needham, and a sister-in-law, Bertha Needham.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Gail T. Needham of Warrensburg; his children, Regina “Ginger” Hopkins and her husband, Wayne, of South Glens Falls, Deborah Buckley and her husband, Peter, of Rutland, VT, Jennifer “Sue” Harrington and her husband, Edward, of Warrensburg, Brian Needham and his wife, Robin, of Warrensburg, Ronald Needham and his wife, Heidi, of Warrensburg; 11 grandchildren, Kristy, Jamie, Jason, Joseph, EJ, Eric, Shane, Christopher, Melissa, Tyler, and Juliet; one step-grandson, Richie; five great-grandchildren, and one on the way; one step-great-grandchild; his brothers, Thomas Needham and his wife, Cindy, of Chestertown, James Needham and his wife, Gail, of Athol, John Needham of Warrensburg, Richard Needham and his wife, Charlotte, of Thurman; a half-brother, Craig Needham of Luzerne. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Reggie’s request there will be no calling hours or formal services scheduled.

Reginald’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Glens Falls Hospital, Westmount Health Facility, and High Peaks Hospice, for the outstanding care he received throughout his illness.
