Obituary of Deborah Prosser
Please share a memory of Deborah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Warrensburg:
Deborah Prosser, 60, of Schroon River Road, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Born May 4, 1954 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Alice (Belden) Prosser; she was raised in Warrensburg, where she was a lifelong resident.
Although Debbie never had any children of her own, she had an impact in the lives of many of her nieces and nephews. She was thought of like a mother by many, but unlike a mother, you could tell her anything because she was also your friend.
She was a fighter and did things her own way; she was honest, forthright, and a loving, with a strong sense of independence, who was unafraid to put you in your place if needed. Debbie had a strong devotion to her cats, and as she would say they were her babies. She enjoyed camping, late night fires, canoeing, and to kick back, having a few beers and playing poker.
Besides her parents Debbie is predeceased by her brothers, Pete and Stewart Prosser.
She is survived by her brother, Michael Prosser and his wife, Bonnie; and her sister Judy Prosser, all of Warrensburg. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend and cousin, John Tennant, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call on Debbie’s family from 11 am to 12 pm, Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg.
A funeral service will be celebrated at noon, at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Warrensburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Deborah’s memory to SPCA of Upstate New York, 588 Queensbury Ave., Queensbury, NY 12804.
