North Creek/Argyle
Richard J. Roblee, 61, of Pleasant Valley Infirmary, Argyle, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord at Glens Falls Hospital on Friday, June 16, 2006.
Born July 10, 1944 in Schenectady, he was the son of Merrill and Rea (Allie) Roblee of North Creek.
Prior to his residence at Pleasant Valley Infirmary, Richard spent more than two decades at the Warren-Washington County ARC group home in Fort Ann. Known as “Dickie” by some, and “Richie” by others, he will be remembered most by all for the twinkle in his eye and his impish grin.
He was a participant in the US Special Olympics, and had traveled to New York City to see the Yankees play baseball. He loved dogs, karaoke, country music, and in his younger years looked forward to dancing at Tillie’s every Thursday night. His sweet disposition coupled with his childlike innocence made him a friend to all, and he likewise returned the love and affection. As the aging process took it’s toll, Richie found comfort in quieter times - car rides, wheelchair walks, and his Dunkin’ Donuts coffee.
He was pre-deceased by one sister Nancy Roblee Brown.
In addition to his parents, Richie is survived by his sisters, Judy Reid of East Greenbush, and Kathy Hall and husband, Dan of Queensbury; nieces, Beth DuPont, Darlene Vaughn and husband, Bruce, Carolyn Aulicino and husband, Joe, and Abby Mowka and husband, John; nephews, Derek Brown, Jesse Reid, Chad Hall and Danny Hall; great nieces & nephews, Jamie DuPont, Morgan Dupont, Brent Vaughn, Hailey Aulicino, Deacon Mowka, and Caitlin Hall.
Richie is also survived by his extended family at the Warren-Washington County ARC.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Olmstedville, on Monday, June 19th at 10 am, with the Rev. Richard Sturtz officiating. Internment will following at the Union Cemetery, North Creek.
