M. Jane Combs, 75, of Hastings Street, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 23, 2007 at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 18, 1931 in the Town of Caldwell, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Myrtle (Ovitt) Davis.
Jane was a lifelong resident of the area. For many years, she was the manager of the former Outlet Barn in Warrensburg.
Jane was a very tender and giving person. She was the one everyone would call to visit. Her home was home to all her friends and family. She loved to make crafts and quilts. Her quality quilting was well known to many.
Her favorite thing of all was to spend time with her big and caring family. She loved animals of all kinds, but especially her pets, Willie and Brook.
Besides her parents, her first husband, Harold Monroe died in 1969 and her second husband, Gerald “Jake” Combs died in 2003. Her sister, Ina Smith also predeceased her.
Jane leaves behind her son, Rusty Monroe and his wife, Mickey of Warrensburg; her daughter, Sue Monroe of Warrensburg; son in law, Robert Rounds of Warrensburg; grandchildren, Michelle Morton and her husband, Bill, Heidi Everts and her companion, Stacy, and Darcy Monroe, Missy Rounds and her companion, Terry Vernum Jr, Stacey Rounds and her companion, Paul Freebern, and Bobby Rounds and his companion, Carol; great grandchildren, Jacob, Noah, Luke, Tiffany, Tasha, Robert, Brendon and Priscilla; her sister, Fay Sherman and her husband, Owen of Bolton Landing; her special nieces, Judy Burch and Barbara Fish and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Jane’s family from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 am Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lee B. Call, Pastor of the Faith Baptist Church in Warrensburg officiating.
Burial will follow in the Warrensburg Cemetery.
