Dear Susie and Family,
My heart aches for you and your loved ones in the loss of your mother Barbara, to her children, Ann, Karen, Peter, Susie, grand children and all of the lives both she and Karl touched throughout the years, including mine. I will hold them both close in thought and Memory.
In going through a kitchen drawer this morning I came across a small scrap of paper and began to read the recipe for German Apple Strudel-the recipe I jotted down at her home,on my last visit there, when she so caring and lovingly prepared us lunch. This small piece of paper I hold dear.
Barbara and Karl met life with unparalled enthusiasm and together overcame many obsticales of life... Both are truly missed!
At a time when I thought I was too sad to write this..I found strenght in the memory of happier times.
Love Roberta and family...

Dear Susie, Your bond with your mother is so special! Not all of us are fortunate to have experienced with our parents the warm, caring, close relationship that you shared with yours. You are an inspiration to all of us who still have the opportunity to create these relationships.
Love, Adina

THE DASH OF LIFE
I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning to the end.
He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth and now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not how much we own; the cars, the house, the cash. What matters most is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard are there things you'd like to change? For you never now how much time is left. You could be at "dash midrange"
If we could just slow down enough to consider what is true an deal and always try to understand the way other people feel.
Ad be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we never loved before
If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.
So when your eulogy being read with your lifes actions to rehash would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash.
