Betty M. Ovitt, 82, of East Schroon River Road, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.
Born February 1, 1935 in Wevertown, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Edna (Waddell) Rounds.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Johnsburg Central School.
Betty worked as a manager at Embassy Shirt Factory in Glens Falls for many years.
Besides spending time with her family, she thoroughly enjoyed driving around the north country, visiting friends, and attending local rodeo’s.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband, William Ovitt; daughter, Becky Lynn Tucker and sister, Shirley Mosher.
She is survived by her son, Scott Ovitt of Warrensburg; her grandchildren, Scott Ovitt Jr., Aaron Ovitt, Santana Ovitt, Jason and Justin Tucker; as well as one great-granddaughter and one great-great-granddaughter and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Betty’s request, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
A graveside service will be conducted privately at the convenience of her family in Warrensburg Cemetery.
