Obituary of Virginia C. Demars

Warrensburg: Virginia C. DeMars, 80, formerly of River Street, passed away peacefully Monday, December 5, 2016 at Indian River Nursing Home. Born December 19, 1935 in Fort Edward, she was the daughter of the late Maurice A. Sr., and Margaret (Conrad) DeMars. She was a lifelong resident of the area. Virginia was employed at the Evergreen Nursing Home in Warrensburg for almost 20 years until she retired to take care of her ailing mother. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Maurice DeMars, Jr. Virginia is survived by a sister, Joan Wilson of and her husband, Paul of Scotia, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 pm, Thursday, December 8, 2016, at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, 3802 Main St., Warrensburg with Fr. Paul Cox, officiating. Family and friends are invited to call on Virginia’s family one hour prior to the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Warrensburg. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Virginia’s memory to St. Cecilia’s RC Church, 3802 Main St., Warrensburg, NY 12885.
