Please share a memory of Beverly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Warrensburg: Beverly A. Potter, 84, formerly of Countryside Adult Home, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at The Warren Center in Queensbury following a brief illness. Born June 30, 1932 in Warrensburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Laura (Burton) Bolton. Following her graduation from Warrensburg Central School, she began working as a waitress at Potters Diner where she was well known as the “waitress with the long red braid.” Throughout her years, she also worked at The Brew and Stew and Bills Diner. She made many friends over the years. She took great pride in her children and enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She always made sure there was ice cream in the freezer as a little treat for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing her honky tonk music on the piano, her cats, driving around locally admiring Christmas lights, and cheering on her favorite NASCAR driver, Jeff Gordon. She will always be remembered as a hard working woman, whose children always came first. Her sense of humor and joyous laugh will never be forgotten. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by an infant granddaughter, Christine Raymond. She is survived by her children, Scott Raymond and his wife, Kendra of Warrensburg, Dinah Raymond and her companion, Ron Keith of FL, and Leanne Raymond of Warrensburg; her sister, Martha Smith of Warrensburg; her grandchildren, Joel Raymond, Korynn “Buttercup” Raymond, Kayla “KK” Raymond, Scotty Raymond, Jr., Casey Fish and his wife, Katie of FL, Eric Conklin and his companion, April Kerbo of LA, and Valene Conklin and her fiancée, John Brothers of Thurman; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Bev’s family from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A memorial service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 8 pm, at the funeral home. Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Countryside Adult Home, not only for the great care Beverly received, but for making it feel like her home. Also, a big thank you to Mary Cochran, the Director of Social Services at Warren Center for her compassion and hard work.
